Crack growth in carburized 0Kh16N15M3B steel under low cycle fatigue in sodium
- 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Moscow
Description
Tube samples of steel 0Kh16N15M3V allowed at 923 K (400 h) in pure sodium and in sodium with carbon source are studied. Fatique tests at 773 K are conducted. Electron microscopic studies of the samples have shown an increase in the quantity of carbide particles in the structure of the samples, allowed in sodium with carbon. The carbides promote the appearance of microcracks in the vicinity of fatigue crack tip and accelerate crack propagation
