Description
In order to safely transport the irradiation monitoring pipe of the reactor pressure vessel extracted from some in-operation Nuclear Power Plant to the analysis unit for inspection, a special transport vessel needs to be developed. The transport vessel can load the irradiation monitoring pipe reliably, realize the highway transport of the irradiation monitoring pipe, and meet the requirements of taking out the irradiation monitoring pipe to the hot cell for cutting inspection. A method of combining design and test verification is adopted for the development of this transport vessel. The design mainly includes shielding calculation, structure design and mechanical evaluation. Verification tests mainly include penetration test, free falling test and shielding performance test. The results show that the developed transport vessel can fulfill the functional requirements and requirements of GB 11806-2004 standard. The transport vessel has completed the first irradiation monitoring pipe transport task by now. (authors)
