Hodoscopic photomultipliers and their application in particle detectors

Description

The design, application and development of hodoscopic photoelectron multipliers (HPEM) are considered. Their specifications and utilization in automatic data readout systems, in scintillation hodoscopes and in Cherenkov detectors are presented. Utilization of one HPEM in the considered particle detectors is equivalent to application of up to 102 (for new models of HPEM up to 103) discrete photodetectors, for example, small photoelectron multipliers. This permits to increase to the utmost information content of a detection channel and thus to decrease the scope of detection electronic equipment
