Description
The content of heavy metal in sediment is a key parameter for evaluating the geochemical vulnerability in aqueous system. The sediment samples collected from different sites between Pondicherry to Porto-Novo of Tamilnadu coastal region is subjected to heavy metal analysis by PIXE technique. The PIXE analysis was carried out using 1.7 MV tandem accelerators with the energy of 2 MeV protons at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, Tamilnadu. The details of the measurements and results are discussed and the conclusion is drawn. (author)
