Investigation of excited states in 56Co with the 54Fe(3He,rho γ)56Co reaction

Description
The two-particle stripping reaction 54Fe(3He,rho γ)56Co at E3He = 15.15 MeV was used to investigate the γ-ray transitions and to determine branching ratios, possible spin assignments and mean lifetimes of levels in 56Co up to 5.5 MeV excitation energy. Gamma-rays for both angular correlations and lifetime measurements were observed with a 43 cm3 Ge(Li) detector in coincidence with proton-groups detected at 00. The level scheme and lifetime values are compared with the predictions of various shell model calculations. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Zweiteilchen-Strippingreaktoren 54Fe(3He,rho γ)56Co bei E3He = 15.15 MeV wurde zur Untersuchung der γ-Uebergaenge und zur Bestimmung der Verzweigungsverhaeltnisse, moeglicher Spin Zuordnungen und der mittleren Lebensdauern der 56Co-Zustaende bis zu 5.5 MeV Anregungsenergie herangezogen. Fuer die Winkelkorrelations- und Lebensdauermessungen wurde die Gammastrahlung mit Hilfe eines 43 cm3 Ge(Li)-Detektors in Koinzidenz mit den bei 00 nachgewiesenen Protonenpulsen gemessen. Die Zustandsniveaus und Lebensdauern werden mit den Aussagen verschiedener Schalenmodellrechnungen verglichen. (orig.)Additional details
