Coordination chemistry of the Pb-212/Bi-212 nuclear transformation; alpha emitting radiopharmaceuticals

  • 1. Univ. of California, Davis

Description

This progress report briefly highlights the areas of research activity for FY85. Radiochemical procedures to produce Bi-205/206 tracer for chemical studies of the Pb-212 to Bi-212 nuclear transformation are reviewed. The developmental work on a Pb-212/Bi-212 generator system suitable for both chemical studies of recoil synthesis of Pb-212 Bi-212 compounds is discussed. Synthesis of candidate ligands that complex both lead and bismuth is discussed. Bismuth subcellular distribution and initial in vivo protein binding results are discussed
