Heavy Ion Deep-Inelastic Collisions Studied By Discrete Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy

  • 1. H. Niewodniczanski Institute of Nuclear Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences Radzikowskiego 152, PL 31-342 Krakow (Poland)

Description

The distributions of products of 208Pb+350 MeV 64Ni, 130Te+275 MeV 64Ni and 208Pb+345 MeV 58Ni collisions have been determined in thick target gamma-ray coincidence experiments. Analysis of gamma cross-coincidence data allowed to account for neutron evaporation to reconstruct primary product distributions. For the three studied systems the neutron-to-proton ratio equilibration as a function of the mass transfer have been obtained from the experimental data and compared to a simple Liquid Drop energy minimization.
