Description
The recent experimental work in the energy range 20-100 A.MeV have indicated that the principal reaction mode in the peripheral and semi-central heavy ion collisions is the binary mode. Data from the Xe + Sn reaction at 50 A.MeV obtained with the 4 π multidetector system INDRA have shown that a sizeable fraction of matter originates from the mid-rapidity region. This component exists for light particle but also for intermediate mass fragments. This finding was compared to dynamical models with which a good agreement was obtained
