Description

Imaging plays an important role in Oncology; presently Positron Emission Tomography (PET) has been integrated with Computed tomography (PET/CT) or Magnetic Resonance (PET/MR) imaging, for hybrid (combined) imaging. These hybrid systems are used to evaluate extent of disease, to detect occult lesions and monitor treatment response in respect of its metabolic activity and anatomical and functional details as well as its invasion into surrounding normal tissues before and after treatment with surgery, chemo or radiation therapy
