Patients who survived long after the administration of SSM (specific substance of Maruyama) (a substance extracted from Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain Aoyama-B) following radiotherapy for unresected early stage lung cancer
Description
Two male patients with lung cancer of early stage received SSM, one of the immunotherapeutic agents, following radiotherapy alone. A 61-year-old patient who received SSM sequentially for 9 years or more is still alive and is living normally 9 years and 8 months after the beginning of radiotherapy. The other 60-year-old patient died 7 years and 5 months after radiotherapy, who received SSM for 20 months after radiotherapy. (Namekawa, K.)
