Gorleben. Exploration of a salt deposit
Description
The DBE has taken up work for underground exploration in the Gorleben salt deposit, which is to be developed at a depth of 840 m. Exploratory work is projected to proceed up to the year 1992. Supposing the suitability of the salt deposit, the plan approval procedure for the Gorleben ultimate waste storage site could then set in, first notice of approval is not expected before the year 1995, and if approval is given, the site might be commissioned at the turn of the century. Die DBE hat mit der untertaegigen Erkundung begonnen. Ueber Schaechte und Strecken soll der Salzstock in 840 m Tiefe grossflaechig erschlossen werden. Die Erkundung wird mindestens bis 1992 dauern. Bei Feststellung der Eignung des Salzstocks Gorleben koennte dann das fuer die Errichtung und den Betrieb eines Endlagers notwendige Planfeststellungsverfahren weiter durchgefuehrt werden. Ein Planfeststellungsbeschluss waere fruehestens 1995 moeglich. Bei positivem Bescheid koennte das Endlager im Jahre 2000 in Betrieb gehen. (orig.)Additional details
