Description

This paper reports on an analysis based on orthogonal radiographs, in vivo. and CT assisted measurements undertaken to compare maximum bladder and rectum doses (International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements 38). Eighty-four patients under went primary pelvic/intracavitary radiation for cervical cancer (IIB-III), and 109 patients received postoperative treatment to the pelvis with boost therapy to the vaginal vault for endometrial cancer. A total of 386 HDR implants were studied. Brachytherapy was applied twice with a dose per fraction of 8.5 Gy in point A for cervical cancer and 9.25 Gy for endometrial cancer calculated at 0.5 cm from the applicator surface
