Glow intensity profile in a spherically stratified gas discharge
- 1. Institute of Thermophysics, Siberian Division, Russian Academy of Sciences, pr. akademika Lavrent'eva 1, Novosibirsk, 630090 (Russian Federation)
Description
The glow intensity profile in a spherically stratified gas discharge is measured. It is shown that the boundaries of striations are thin spherical glowing shells, whose thickness is proportional to the striation radius. Based on the analysis of the optical-emission characteristics of spherical striations, the spatial distribution of the electric field in the stratified discharge region is estimated
