Some theoretical observations on the behaviour of thermoluminescent response as a function of storage, irradiation and temperature

Description

Using first and second order kinetics, the behaviour of thermoluminescence (TL) emission as a function of the storage temperature and activation energy has been computed. A second approach consists of computation of the occupancy function n(t) when the decrease of the TL signal is in competition with its increase, due to a continuous background (i.e. environmental irradiation). The mathematical expressions for the first and second order have been obtained in both cases; for the second order, an expression has been obtained which allows simple calculation of the environmental dose rate by direct reading of the TL emission.
