Method of decomposing processing for radioactive anionic exchange resins
Description
Purpose: To improve the decomposing rate of anionic exchange resins. Method: Upon oxidative decomposition of anionic ion-exchange resins using hydrogen peroxide under the presence of a catalyst mainly composed of iron ions, Cl- ions, etc. adsorbed to the anionic ion exchange resins are previously converted into SO42- ions, etc. having no inhibiting effect to the catalyst and, thereafter, decomposing treatment is applied. This enables to improve the decomposing rate for the anionic exchange resins and, since the inhibiting ingredients are not concentrated in the catalyst, the catalyst can be re-used. (Kamimura, M.)
