Statistical characteristics of ELF-VLF emissions observed at Syowa Station

  • 1. Yamagata Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Science

Description

Using special merits of the digital data, the ELF-VLF emission data observed over the long term (from June, 1981 to January, 1983) at Syowa Station are analyzed in a short time. The data analyses for three frequency bands (750 Hz, 2 kHz and 4 kHz) have done especially to investigate diurnal and seasonal occurrence-variation of ELF-VLF emissions and their relations with sigma Kp (one of the geomagnetic activity indexes). These analyzed results agree with qualitative results which were obtained by using the analog data and reported by many authors and also indicate a possibility to estimate some new statistical characteristics quantitatively.
