Wear characteristics of UHMW polyethylene by twist method

Description
A wear test of the twist movement was performed as a new method to estimate the in vivo wear behavior of an acetabular cup material for total knee replacements. A series of UHMWPE samples was used to evaluate the dynamic coefficient of friction in twist movement in contact with steel. The experimental data were conducted to validate the related theoretical model developed in the present study. (paper)
