Aurorae and auroral high-energy electrons
Description
Results are discussed of simultaneous measurements of Auroras and the X-ray-bremsstrahlung of energetic electrons. It is shown that the principal mechanism of acceleration of auroral electrons operates over a wide energy range, from units to a thousand keV. The differences in the behaviour of auroras and the nature of energetic electrons throw can be attributed to the energy dependence of the mechanisms of throw and the drift of the particles in the magnetosphere
