Experiment on the melting pressure of spin polarized 3He
Creators

Description
In liquid 3He in a Pomeranchuk cell, the melting curve has been observed to be suppressed, presumably in regions with a strong local spin polarization. In the temperature range 30-50 mK the observed suppression was 60-80 kPa. The corresponding local polarization is estimated, in a crude model, to be between 25 and 40%. (orig.)
