Polarization of electromagnetic radiation in motion of ultrarelativistic electrons near a crystal axis of diamond

Description
Observations of a linear polarization of γ rays with energy E/sub γ/ = 36 - 85 MeV produced in axial superbarrier motion of electrons with energy E/sub o/ = 1.2 GeV in a diamond crystal. In this work in order to determine the possibilities of use of such photon beams for carrying out photonuclear investigations the measurement of the linear polarization were continued into the soft region of the photon spectrum down to E≅20 MeV with use of the reaction γ+6Li→3He+3H as an analyzer of the degree of linear polarization of the photons
