Description
PIXE technique on 5SDH-2 PELLETRON of Hanoi University of Science (HUS) has been developed for analyzing fine air PM1. Chemical elemental concentrations in the fine air PM1 collected on Nuclepore filters such as Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, etc. can be analyzed by this technique. Limits of detection (LOD)were typically between 0.04 and 0.8 µg/cm2. Measurement time for each sample ranges from 20 to 30 minutes. The PIXE technique is very useful for air pollution study. (author)
