Fast reactor versions: elements of choice

This paper has the objective of explaining in detail the economical, political, social and technical elements on which the CFDT (French Trade Union) bases its opposition to the commercial development of the version of fast reactors. An examination of the different choices which were investigated does not point to any legitimate grounds for this choice. What has to be done is to present the facts which enable the greatest possible number of workers or civilians to take up a position on the choices concerning them. A technical comparison of the fast neutron reactor with those operating at present is put forward (France and United Kingdom). It covers the different radioactive waste products and the results of the individual and collective monitoring of the workmen

Abstract (French)

Cet article a pour objectif d'expliciter les elements economiques, politiques, sociaux et techniques sur lesquels la CFDT fonde son opposition au developpement industriel de la filiere des reacteurs rapides. L'examen des differents volets etudies ne vise pas la legitimation de ce choix. Il s'agit de presenter les donnees permettant au plus grand nombre, travailleurs ou citoyens, de poser sur des choix les concernant. La comparaison technique de la filiere a neutrons rapides avec celle des reacteurs actuellement en fonctionnement est presentee (France et Royaume-Uni). Elle porte sur les differents radioactifs rejetes et les resultats de la dosimetrie individuelle et collective des travailleurs
