Description
An analytical approach of confinement is presented. It is based upon a modified version of Halpern's formulation which converts functional integration over gluonic vector potentials to integration over gluonic field strengths. Principally, gluons are discussed. A mass scale is achieved by dimensional transmutation, which produces a theory which in Gaussian, or Hartree-Fock approximation leads to acausal gluons that effectively propagate within tubes of confined electric or magnetic flux, together with a finite, gauge-invariant condensate.
