Radionuclide leaching from glass composite materials

Description

The paper deals with quantitative analysis of diffusion-limited leaching of radioisotopes from glass-composite materials (heterogeneous two-phase media) and evaluation of the glass-composite materials water resistance on this basis. The dependences of substance release from a glass block surface unit M on time t for different coefficients of radioisotope distribution between matrix and disperse phase are numerically computed within the diffusion-controlled model in order to evaluate the leaching rate for radioisotopes initially located in the glass-composite material disperse phase
