Description
A translational energy spectroscopy technique was used to study single-electron capture into the He+ (n = 2) and He+ (n 3) states in He2+-D collisions. Differential cross sections were determined at 4, 6 and 8 keV in the angular range 5'-1o30' (laboratory frame). As expected, single-electron capture into the n = 2 state was found to be the dominant process; total cross sections for capture into the He+ (n = 3) state were compared to other experimental and theoretical results.
