Analytical investigations of spent nuclear fuel and their relations to reactor operation and nuclear safeguards
Creators
- 1. Zentralinstitut fuer Kernforschung, Rossendorf bei Dresden (German Democratic Republic)
Description
Recent achievements of the most important methods of spent fuel analysis (mass spectrometry, gamma spectrometry, alpha spectrometry, spectrophotometry, and X-ray fluorescence) are briefly reviewed. Special emphasis is given to burnup determinations and to the conclusions from spent fuel composition studies for the calibration of burnup calculation models and for nuclear safeguards (isotope correlation techniques). 71 refs.
