Study of valve malfunction events in Japanese nuclear power plants

Description

This paper describes valve malfunction events in Japanese nuclear power plants. For the comparison with the valve-malfunction events in the Energy Core Cooling System and the valve malfunction events outside ECCS, the cumulative-distributions are drawn. The valve malfunction distribution within ECCS, shows that the life of valve is approaching the end. It seems like to be possible that the Fukushima meltdown accident was influenced by the valve malfunction events. (author)
