Digital imaging of dose distributions by nuclear magnetic resonance

Description
This report presents the method determining the spatial dose distribution in a tissue-equivalent phantom using the nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. A cross-linked dextran gel (Sephadex G-200) is used as fixation agent of Fricke solution. A linear relation was found between the relaxation rate of the gel phantom and the absorbed dose up to 30 Gy. We describe an experimental study of dose distributions in the real gel phantom, especially for the application on the irradiation in an inhomogeneous media. (author)
