Neutron interferometric separation of geometric and dynamical phases
- 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Solid State Physics Div.
Description
Results of the first experiment demarcating geometric and dynamical phases are presented. These two phases arise in our neutron interference experiment from two distinct physical operations, a rotation and a linear translation respectively, of two identical spin flippers. Pauli anticommutation has been directly verified for the first time by rotating one flipper through π. (author)
