A system of transfer dosimetry in radiation processing

Description
A system of alanine/ESR transfer dosimetry is described, based on measurements of radiation induced free radicals in polycrystalline samples of alanine by ESR spectroscopy. The stability of the free radicals under normal ambient conditions is very high, so the dosimeter can be stored as a document for years. Some chemical-physical and dosimetric properties of the system are given. The fabrication of the dosemeter is described. The results of an interlaboratory Co-60 dose comparison are reported. (U.K.)
