Description

Two-photon production of the exclusive final states panti p+nπ (n = 0, 1, 2, and 3) has been investigated using the ARGUS detector at the e+e- storage ring DORIS II at DESY. The reactions γγ → panti pπ0 and γγ → πanti pπ+π-π0 have been observed for the first time, as have the Δ++ and anti Δ++ baryons in the final state panti pπ+π-. No evidence was found for Δ++ anti Δ++ production. Topological cross sections for two-photon production of panti p, panti pπ0, panti pπ+π- and panti pπ+π-π0, as well as the cross section for γγ → Δ++anti pπ-+c.c., have been measured. Upper limits are given for the cross sections for γγ → Δ0anti Δ0, γγ → Δ++anti Δ++ and γγ → Λanti Λ. (orig.)
