Low-frequency drift wave in a tokamak

Description

The main mechanism of excitation of drift waves in tokamak-collisions of closed electrons swing waves with the frequency less than effective frequency of collisions: ω>ν sub(e.ef). In a tokamak with thermofusion parameters this frequency will be of the order or even less than bounce frequency of closed ions ν sub(e.ef.) < ω sub(bi), therefore the frequency of excited waves ω< ω sub(bi). Drift wave in this new frequency range is studied. Its poloidal and radial structures and the effect of different dissipative factors are investigated. Instability criterion is found. When carrying out this criterion, i.e. shear is not very large and gradient of electron temperature is not very low, the wave is unstable. The instability is localized close to rational magnetic surface. But waves with close quentum numbers m and n are localized close to different surfaces and their localization ranges can overlap so that the whole cord cross section will be filled with the turbulence of low-frequency drift wave
