Study of the migration of radioactive elements in soils ''in-place''

The problems of medium protection against radioactive contamination hazards have led the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique--Service de Controle des Radiations et de Genie Radioactif to study the behavior of ions in soils. There are many theoretical researches and laboratory studies on the movement of radioelements in soil. But, with the difficulties for obtaining a similar result in field, we have developed a simple direct method of in place soil contamination. However, a principal drawback remains, the necessity to extrapolate from one or two reduced size samples to a large area. This is all the problem of sampling, which is not specific of our method.
