The following topics are described: (1) overview of the low activity blanket design, (2) plasma confinement, (3) fuel injection, (4) plasma heating, (5) mechanical features of the very low blanket and shield, (6) neutron activation and breeding, (7) blanket cooling, (8) electricity generation, (9) recovery of spent fuel and plasma exhaust, (10) recovery of bred tritium, (11) blanket replacement and processing, and (12) effluents during normal operation and emergency containment.
