Pulse radiolysis of aqueous solutions of 6-aminophenalenone. 2. Intermediates of rections of dye with OH radicals

Description
Oxidation of 6-aminophenalenone by OH radicals was studied by the method of pulsed radiolysis. Formation of two oxidized forms of dye - molecular cation-radical and OH-adduct - was detected. Absorption bands with the maxima at 420 and 670 nm correspond to the first form, bands with the maxima at 340 and 390 nm - to the second one. It is ascertained that disappearance of both products takes place mainly in recombination reaction, but for cation-radical reaction with water is also possible, its product being OH-adduct of the dye
