Heat treatment of explosively consolidated molybdenum: TEM studies

  • 1. Oregon Graduate Center, Beaverton (USA)

Description

In this study, the microstructures of explosively consolidated molybdenum samples that were annealed at various temperatures for 1 hr were examined in a Hitachi transmission electron microscope (TEM) operated at 125 kV. Experimental details are given. Grain size measurements and measurements of grain boundary misorientations were made on the specimens in the TEM. The results are summarized and discussed. The variations in hardness and grain size with respect to 1 hr annealing temperature are shown. Bright-field transmission electron micrographs are shown. (U.K.)
