Radiation from ultra-relativistic electrons moving through the dense medium in the presence of a strong magnetic field

  • 1. Moskovskij Inzhenerno-Fizicheskij Inst. (USSR)

Description

The synchrotron radiation of electrons with a zero pitch-angle before their entering the matter is studied. A pitch-angle distribution occurs due to multiple scattering. It is shown that in the magnetic fields that are characteristic of pulsars the mechanism considered makes a main contribution to the electron energy losses in a wide range of the initial energies of the particles and concentrations of the nuclei
