Description
The PISC trials were initiated as part of a scheme to determine the capability of the procedure for ultrasonic examination laid down in the ASME Code, Section XI (1974) for detecting, sizing, orientating and locating flaws in welds in heavy section steel. This report describes the method that was used to analyse the results of the ultrasonic examination using the results of a destructive examination of three test specimens as a reference. The most important results are presented. (author)
