Kinetics of carburization of Kh16N15M3B steel in sodium on mechanical characteristics in various structural states
Description
It has been found that fuel pin sheaths in fast reactors can become carburized by carbon compounds having entered the sodium coolant. This paper presents the results of and mechanical tests performed on steel-Kh16N15M3B, widely used as a sheathing steel, in order to ascertain the effects of carburization on mechanical properties such as corrosion fatigue, plasticity, yield strength, elongation, aging, and fracture behavior
