Moderation and absorption effects on hot replacement reactions of 38Cl atoms in mixtures of o-dichlorobenzene and hexafluorobenzene
- 1. Central Research Institute for Physics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest (Hungary)
Description
Conditions are given for the equivalence of the Estrup-Wolfgang description of the hot atom reaction kinetics with the first-order Hurwitz approximation in the neutron slowing down theory. Conclusions are drawn for the applicability of this approach for describing hot atom replacement processes in reactive mixtures. Analytical and numerical calculations were carried out to explain an unusual concentration dependence of 38Cl-for-Cl substitution, found experimentally in liquid binary mixtures of o-dichlorobenzene and hexafluorobenzene
