Description
The formation of strontium ferrite SrO.6Fe2O3 was investigated by Moessbauer spectroscopy, using a Ranger-type spectrometer with a 57Co source of 3.108 Bq activity in Pd matrix, to study the possibility of the replacement of imported alpha-ferrite in ceramics by impure iron oxide precipitated from spickling solution. Based on the analysis of Moessbauer data propositions are made concerning the intermediate product as well as the thermal range for strontium ferrite formation. (Sz.J.)
