Measuring head for radionuclide X-ray fluorescence analyzer

The specifications are given (8 figures) of a new type of measuring head (1.9 kg) for the radionuclide X-ray fluorescence analyzer for determining the components of ores, metallurgical materials and products of the chemical industry. The design does not reduce the effective area of the detector, makes it possible to control the head with one hand and protects the absorbers against mechanical damage. The replacement of the absorber takes a mere 20 secs. Measurements may be made in co-axial and lateral geometries in which the position of the radiation source may continuously be changed.
