Determination of transuranic DAC equivalent from CE-144 concentrations

Description

The development of a reliable empirical method to determine the DAC (Derived Air Concentration) equivalent relative to observed Ce-144 concentrations for the transuranic (TRU) nuclides Pu-238, Pu-239/240, Pu-241, AM-241, Cm-242, and Cm-243/244 is documented. The analytical methodology used to determine the relationship between TRU and Ce-144 concentrations, the practical implant identification of TRU DAC for air samples, the DAC equivalent set point for the BAB (Beta Aerosols Beacon) Monitor, and the comparison between the observed TRU DAC and the empirical TRU DAC will be presented
