Description
Excessive fuel assembly bowing may induce reloading or unloading difficulties, incomplete control rod insertion, fuel assembly defect, and quadrant power tilts. To avoid fuel assembly excessive bowing is import for PWR safety operation. This paper analyzes the phenomenon of fuel assembly bowing and its impact, the factors that affect assembly bowing, mechanism and preventive measures of assembly bowing. (authors)
