Formation of neodymium hidride derivatives in exchange reaction between tricyclopentadienylneodimium and n-butyllithium

Description
Interaction of tricyclopentadienylneodimium and n-butyllithium in benzene at 23 deg C and molar ratio C4HgLi:Nd=1.5-2.9 has been studied. Increased α-butene yield in comparison with butane points out that β-elimination with formation of stable neodimium hydride derivatives passing into benzene solution after adding trans-pentadiene-1.3 is a main tendency during decomposition of neodimium butyl derivatives prepared in the above-mentioned reaction
