Asymmetries of heavy leptons in E6 theories at hadron colliders

Description
We consider the possibility of using the forward-backward asymmetry A/sub F//sub B/ to distinguish between the production of fourth-generation (L) and exotic (E) leptons in hadronic collisions within the context of E6 theories. The existence of a new Z' resonance expected in such models and its subsequent decay into lepton pairs provides increased statistics and therefore a means to overcome the W+W- background in searches for heavy leptons. We find that for some models of current interest, A/sub F//sub B/ allows the determination of the lepton-Z' couplings at the Superconducting Super Collider, but not the Fermilab Tevatron, clearly separating these two possibilities when the lepton masses are relatively light (<200--250 GeV)
