Diagnosis of complications of colon diverticulitis
Description
Diverticulitis is the most common complication of diverticulosis. The Hinchey classification recognizes four degrees of acute diverticulitis (1). Acute diverticulitis can be uncomplicated, however complications such as abscess, fistula, obstruction, stricture ... Diagnosis of acute diverticulitis and its complications imaging examination methods is based on USG examinations, X-ray radiography and especially CT examinations. CT irigography provides greater benefit. In the article on the example of three patients we point to contribution of imaging diagnostic modalities in the diagnosis of acute diverticulitis and its complications. (author)
