Thermal effects in gamma-irradiated elastomers

Description
Temperature dependences of specific heat were measured and thermal effects in gamma-irradiated elastomers in the temperature range of 343-523 K were determined using the methods of differential scanning calorimetry and monotonous conditions. The materials were irradiated at a temperature of 293 ± 2 K using 60Co source by doses of 10, 100 and 1000 kGy at the dose rate ∼ 0.5 Gy/s. It is shown that recombination of thermostable allyl and fluoroalkyl radicals is a probable reason for the exothermal effects observed

Методами дифференциальной сканирующей калориметрии и монотонного режима измерены температурные зависимости удельной теплоемкости и определены тепловые эффекты в гамма-облученных эластомерах в интервале температур 343-523 К. Облучение материалов проводили при температуре 293 ± 2 K с помощью источника 60Со дозами 10, 100 и 1000 кГр при мощности дозы ∼ 0.5 Гр/с. Показано, что вероятной причиной наблюдаемых экзотермических эффектов является рекомбинация термостабильных аллильных и фторалкильных радикаловAdditional details
