Creators
Description
Stopped during 1995 fall, the covering works of the Manche radioactive wastes repository (France) remained sustained during the safety assessment works carried out by the public inquiry commission and by the commission in charge of the evaluation of the Manche centre. results of these inquiries have stressed on the protective role of the cover and on the necessity of its completion. The French government gave its green light to the Andra (the French national agency of radioactive wastes) to finish the covering works. This digest paper gives some technical details about these works, their schedule and about the quality controls performed to check the geo-membranes tightness. (J.S.)
