Accelerating tubes for the ''Avrora'' and ''Electron'' type high-voltage accelerators

Measures are taken so as to increase electric strength of vacuum-sealing devices with a view to ensure high reliability of operation of accelerating tubes in high-voltage electron accelerators ''Aurora'' and ''Electron''. Results of the accelerating tube tests have shown that working voltage 800 kv is ensured in the tubes within 15 - 20 min with no discharges and X-radiation. Electric strength safety factor is not less than 2. The tubes are highly reliable in operation with vacuum inside the tube being 1.10-6 torr and beam current of 20 ma
